Yesterday I stayed home from work sick, luckily I did because it apparently was a blizzard outside! Is it March yet???? (You’ll hear my talking about March constantly until its actually March…I’ll finally be heading down to Argentina and I can’t wait)
I struggled today with finding an appropriate topic for today’s Taboo Tuesday. Sometimes I find it a little difficult because what I think is normal conversation could be taboo for someone else. So I think nothing is taboo! I try to find things that a lot of people may consider taboo or get shy or embarrassed talking about. There are only a few things I know that can turn people fifty shades of red.
So even though this will pop up frequently throughout my blog and considering part of my job through my company is to promote self exploration. Masturbation is often something that people don’t want to talk about. They don’t like to admit that they do it and are often times ashamed that they do!
I don’t blame people, up until I started working as a consultant slinging sex toys. It was definitely a topic I rarely talked about. Many of us were taught at a young age that it was dirty, naughty and harmful to you. Now I admit, there are times where too much can be just that, but often times, masturbation is a excellent way to release some stress, explore what makes you feel good and help you to get a better understanding of your body.
Although its not so taboo any more (thanks Sex and the City for making the Rabbit so mainstream!) its still something most don’t like to speak about. Which is absolutely ok! But I encourage you to learn about yourself! Give it whirl or a rub and find out what gets you going. Try a toy, an arousal cream or watch some porn! There are plenty of options to try and to learn and explore!
And who says you have to do it alone! Get your partner involved!
